About the product
The doypack is one of the most popular packaging formats in the food and cosmetics sectors and in pet products. The reason is simple – it stands stably, looks good on the shelf and offers plenty of room for brand communication. At the same time it is practical in transport and storage, which is why many companies switch to doypacks when they want to improve how the product is received without complicating the packing process.
As a manufacturer of printed film packaging, we make doypacks for a specific application. The point is for the pack not only to look good but also to hold its parameters – the seal, repeatability and durability in logistics.

The doypack – what it is and when it makes the most sense
A doypack is a stand-up pouch with a bottom gusset that stays upright once filled. This presents the product better and makes it easier for the customer to notice. In practice, the doypack works brilliantly wherever display and ease of use matter – for example with coffee, tea, dried fruit, granola, snacks, and pet food and treats, as well as with some cosmetic and technical products.
If you sell in several variants, the doypack also makes it easier to tell the series apart, because the print has a large area and can be designed clearly.

The zip-lock doypack – convenience that genuinely influences the customer's choice
In many categories, buyers expect resealable packaging. That is why the zip-lock doypack is popular wherever the product isn't used up all at once. The zip improves convenience, reduces spillage and helps keep the product fresh – something end customers particularly appreciate with free-flowing products, snacks, coffee and pet food.
From the manufacturer's point of view, it is important that the zip is matched to the pack construction and the packing method. Then everything works predictably – both during filling and in everyday use.
The doypack with a window – when you want to show the product and build trust
If the product looks good and 'sells on sight', a doypack with a window is worth considering. The window lets the customer see the contents without opening the pack, and in many sectors this builds trust and shortens the buying decision. It is most often used with dried fruit, mixes, loose-leaf tea and free-flowing products, as well as with pet food and treats, where the look and texture of the product matter.
It is important, however, that the window doesn't spoil the pack's function. So when designing a doypack with a window, the solution is chosen so that it still meets the requirements for product protection, sealing and behaviour in transport.
The doypack and barrier – how to match the packaging to the product's requirements
Not every product needs the same protection. Some have to be better protected against oxygen, others against moisture, and sometimes retaining the aroma is key. That is why a doypack is chosen for the real storage and distribution conditions, not 'by eye'. If the product has a longer shelf life or is sensitive, the pack construction and seal parameters have a direct impact on final quality and the number of complaints.
The same goes for packing. If you pack automatically, the packaging has to behave repeatably batch after batch. In practice, a stable seal and a predictable 'process window' are what count, because that is when the line runs smoothly and waste doesn't build up.
The printed doypack – flexographic printing and shelf impact
A printed doypack combines the packaging function with marketing in one. A large print area lets you show the brand, the product variant and the key information clearly, while keeping a consistent look across the whole line. In production, flexographic printing is most often used, because it works well on films and at higher volumes while giving a repeatable result across successive batches. This matters especially when you have several flavours or weights – the print then makes identification easier, reduces mistakes in the warehouse and in production, and helps the customer recognise the product faster on the shelf. As a manufacturer, we keep colours and registration repeatable and match the packaging to the packing process, because a doypack should not only look good but also seal stably and run predictably on your line.
