What is PROOF?
Digital proof has replaced the previously used analog Cromalin proofs. Digital proof is calibrated printing, color consistent with the one made on a printing press, printed on a special paper with the level of whiteness close to the one of chalk overlay paper. Proof is used to check colors before the final printing, to show it to the client in order to get approval, as well as a template for a printing house.
What is the photopolymer matrix?
This is a flexible printing plate. This form compensates for unevenness of material’s, it enables printing on e.g.: film ( PP, PE, PET, etc. ), paper and polymer, cardboard, corrugated cardboard, aluminum foil, self-adhesive labels.
Photopolymer plates for flexographic printing were introduced in the early 70s. As a result of the progress in researches, they are being constantly improved. Currently they are characterized by a good transfer of paint, edge acuity of raster points, as well as high endurance ( high volumes ).
The most well-known manufacturers of photopolymer materials for flexographic printing include: Flint Group ®, DuPont ®, Kodak ®. Currently, the highest standard in the world is presented by KODAK ®.
What is Lpi?
lpi (lines per inch ) – the parameter telling how many rows of dots ( or lines ) are arranged parallel to each other. The higher the ruling is, the finer halftone dots are, so the printed image can contain more details.
What is the point of a raster?
Raster is a single-tonal picture made up of small dots or lines, which when being watched from a normal distance gives an impression of existence of halftones when the dots are so small that they blend in with the surrounding background.
What is lamination?
Lamination is a mixture of two or more materials with different mechanical, physical and technological properties. In practice this is a combination of two or more layers of film with the use of a solvent-free adhesive.
Characteristics of laminates:
- high mechanical endurance,
- high resistance to weather conditions,
- high surface hardness,
- resistance to abrasion of paint,
- resistance to dirt,
- resistance to chemicals.
What is the deadline?
The deadline depends on the level of occupancy for printing at given time and the size of the order.
Normally we deal with orders within the following terms:
new projects;
– 5 weeks for orders of bags,
– 4 weeks for orders of printed tape.
